We explore the impacts of a recently discovered rigidity transition based on cell shape. We hope to understand how this transition is influenced by collective motion, cell division and cell death. In addition, this framework allows us to explore the influence of open boundaries on tissues. This enables us to help pinpoint which cellular influences govern collective  tissue behavior such as wound healing.
